[BH4] Ocean Pines, Md New 5k Events

Hello Blue Hens,

I just wanted to bring to your attention that the Ocean Pines Recreation Department has teamed up with Chris Klebe & OCtriRunning Design Team to help host two great 5k events this summer.  Both of them will be released to the public in the next few weeks but registration is already open and we encourage your team to get involved.

The first event (flyer attached) is our 4th of July OPA Freedom 5K which proceeds will help support the "Home of the Brave Inc."  We are truly excited about this event which we are trying to have a strong patriotic feel.  Runners will receive wrist bands to the other 4th of July events that day.  The race will be at the Ocean Pines South Gate Pond.

The second event will be Labor Day weekend.  We are going to have a Country Foods Festival on September 1st and to help kick the event off we again teamed with OCtriRunning to host the Dirt Road Dash 5k.  This race will be at White Horse Park in Ocean Pines and will dip in and out of the woods on dirt roads and beaten trails.  This is a truly unique race that OCtriRunning's Chris Klebe is really excited about.  Racers will enter the festival for free.

I know your group is constantly searching for the newest local & regional races and I wanted to make sure our local running clubs were well informed of our events. Our goal is to provide the chance for fitness enthused individuals to expand their opportunities to compete and have fun.  Please feel free to pass our information along to other runners or families you may know. We really hope to see you guys out there!
